30/1/25 Isn't she beautiful! The first month of the new year has almost gone, but where did it go? It is not on the compost heap because we looked last night. It is also not hiding under our caravan. It shows that we must make the most of every day.  There is so much happening here sometimes; we can always do something when no human is watching, night or day. Sometimes, we just return to the caravan before His Lordship wakes up.  I must file a complaint again. But who will listen to me? Not these humans, that is for sure. Yesterday, the Mistress went far away to meet a friend and did not take me, and today, they arrived back from a walk around the local gardens without taking me. She showed me the photos she had taken, and she had some fantastic shots of Dahlias.  You can see she has gone nuts over these things, but I do see they are all in good condition, and the gardeners are doing a good job. These humans reckon this gate was the best because the gardens we...

25/1/25 The Mistress has been preparing the caravan all week, ready to sell if they don't get a refund. She instructed her darling last night to get her up at 7am. Holy moly, she is never up at this time. A buyer was coming, and she needed to be on her game and ready for them. We are all impressed with these people, but The Mistress says, "Don't build your hopes up." We are to be patient. Now, I am sick of being patient, and I want to know what the plan is when it goes. I do know that the lawyer is trying to get the refund, and from what I know, this fella should pay up as many government departments are involved in this debacle. They still will not tell me their plans either way when the caravan goes. Oh, the joys of being a gnome. She assures me that I will approve. But what if I don't approve? After delivering her darling to golf, she went to the local market, where everyone gets a bargain.  It appears she enjoys pottering around by herself and ha...

21/1/25 My new mates love this place. There is so much freedom to stroll around and see what everyone is up to. Yesterday , they were moved from their positions, as His Lordship had a weed eater around the problematic areas the lawn mower could not reach.   He was a dab hand at completing this task and obviously had done this before.  A chap here loaned it to him, complete with a helmet for 'Health and safety.' A human Gnome! Frying in the heat. The neighbors mowed the lawns for us while we were away, which pleased the humans to no end. Forgit is looking for a pond around here, and we cannot find one anywhere—only a hose or two. I guess this means we have to dig a mighty big hole for him. Our pool appears to be in storage, and we are unsure when this caravan will be gone.  The Mistress has had a stroke of luck today and returned to her lawyer, so watch this space! My new mates relish exploring this place while the humans sleep. Yesterday, fresh-cut grass ...

19/1/4 The Mistress has been picking on me and would not let me get on here and do my thing. She has been so grumpy with this head -cold, and if I dare to open my mouth, she pounces. It's now two weeks since her darling gave it to her, and his has long gone. He doesn't appear to want it back either.  She thinks buying another Gnome, a new friend for me will win me over. She is mistaken. When we left Mosgiel on Friday, she put me in this stupid bubble wrap and cloth and shoved me in a bag with my new mates. It appeared that the car was full and there was nowhere for me to sit. The Grandson had the only seat, and I was not getting on his knee, as they are just too bony. He doesn't eat enough for a growing lad. Most kids his age have hollow legs, but this lad has bone and a little muscle. I saw him running fast in a park we were at while on holiday.  His wee legs were going flat tack, and I reckon he had no breaks to stop. The Mistress did try very hard...

14/1/25   Everyone was on the ball yesterday, including me. The Mistress was highly organized, and we were off to see the Albatross. I was perched beside the Grandson. He is an interesting young chap. He asks lots of questions. The road was extremely windy, and lots of hills and narrow roads. There was not a lot of room on the road, and the humans hoped that no buses and trucks were coming the other way.  We had been informed prior to going out there that there was no need to book to see these birds. A big mistake. A very large cruise ship was in and booked the place out. The Dunedin information center misinformed, the Mistress and she was not impressed. The humans made a booking for today.  I must report that we all looked around the souvenirs, and the Mistress put me down to buy something, then went off without me. Hey, what is going on here? There I was, still sitting on the counter, and all these strangers wandering around. How could she leave me there? She is pretty ...
