My mate and I have been enjoying the fruit the humans collected the other day. It's pretty amusing to see how far an apricot can travel, and the cherries are even more adventurous, venturing out the door and into the passage where the humans sleep. The guitar fella, Gizmo, is having a blast, and I've been regaling him with tales of our whimsical life with these humans.
I found Gizmo full of surprises about what he had been doing before coming to live at our place. The Mistress found him in a shop window in Mosgiel, and he would watch the humans doing their Christmas shopping. Little children screamed with excitement while doing their shopping.
The Mistress and His Lordship stood at the window and saw Gizmo. He could see that she was most impressed and would buy him. She asked the assistant if they had more Gnomes, but he was a loner. He remembers being packed in a box with all this yukky stuff around him and was tossed around like me some time ago when the Mistress left me in Waimate. I couldn't believe she could do this, so that friend of hers packed me in a box with special packing around me so I didn't break while returning home. Don't humans realize that this is cruel!
Gizmo started playing the guitar last night, and what a commotion! I raced to close the door so the humans wouldn't wake up. He is actually not bad at all, and he would get on with that Waimate friend as she plays instruments and sings. She didn't sing for me, though. I heard that she had a great voice. Oh well, a shame about her packing me up in a box is all I can say.
Tabitha, the resident cat, likes to keep up with our antics when the humans are not around. She is a nosey cat and tried to biff the cherry. She had a great old time with her paw and occasionally had the cherry in her mouth, but she didn't eat it. She also plays with toys on the floor.
Today, His Lordship has the flu. He is coughing and sneezing all over the place, and he sneezes so hard that the curtains move. I cannot believe how loud and deafening these outbursts are. The cat takes off with all that noise and heads outside. His Lordship went off to sleep with a blanket around him. His darling made sure he was warm as he was shivering. He is not eating much either, so we know it is not "man flu."
