I hear you all asking where we have been. My Mistress has the flu, which was given to her by her darling. It appears he doesn't want it back, either. She is far from happy, and it has made her grumpy. Sleeping longer does not seem to help either. Her darling runs after her and is a huge help. She worries she will still have this nasty flu when her Grandson arrives on Saturday. His Mother is still getting over her several weeks later. The thought that it would hang around this long does not please her.
Being stuck at home and on holiday is no fun, despite the wisecracks going across the room. The resident cat struts her stuff, occasionally tosses a ball, and loves scratching her post. All cats love to play in boxes, but yesterday, when the Mistress put one on the floor, she didn't know what to do with it. A considerable paper bag sits on the floor, which does nothing to please her. The humans think she is odd, as all cats love bags and boxes. She does not even purr. She makes tiny squeaks while talking to the Mistress. They are always talking these two.
They say it is summertime, but almost every day, it rains. This upsets these humans no end. We get sunshine and heat, but you can bet that we have just had rain or that rain is coming.
Gizmo and I enjoy a sing-song when all is quiet. He has taught me some songs, and we jam away each night. When we return to Ashburton, we will have some mates to teach. I cannot wait. Last night, we visited the garden next door. They have some exciting garden art: Gnomes, mushrooms, and things that go around in the wind. The Mistress loves it and says it's very colorful. She likes that it is low maintenance as they all sit on small pebbles.
