His Lordship rose before the Mistress as he was going south to do some chores, and of course, it was Wednesday and golf day. He was gone about half an hour when suddenly the door opened, and he showed the Mistress his wallet, which he had left in the new car and needed. He didn't have his usual happy face, so he was angry at himself. Just as well, he didn't blame the Mistress. 

The Mistress had other plans. The Grandson was sick, and his parents worked, so she took herself to his place and looked after him. He was a little better today and is not allowed to take his bugs to school. Jeepers, the school would close down if everyone got the bugs.

We were left in the caravan for the day, which was an excellent excuse to keep exploring this place. A rather large dog was wandering alone, so we kept well out of his way. There is also another cute little dog next door who is on a lead and can't go far. He just watched us ducking and diving amongst caravans and camper vans. It is rather interesting checking out these vehicles as they are all so different. 

Some people stopped to look at the Gnomes outside our caravan. The guy in the hammock thought this was rather amusing. He is new to the collection and pretty lazy, too. He never ventures very far. The other two chaps out there keep an eye on him and report their findings. 

There is also a sizeable swimming pool here, much bigger than the one we had before it was stored. One kid was in it with his parents, watching him. Strange as he wasn't at school, I say. 

We checked out some big rooms with substantial washing machines and driers. Realizing this must be where the Mistress does their washing. Some people were cleaning and washing the floors, so we stayed out of their way so they could not see us. We should have given them a fright in seeing us. The outcome could have been priceless!

When the Mistress arrived home, she informed His Lordship of her day after checking that he had recovered from the episode this morning. I reckon she rather enjoyed looking after her grandson on her own.

29/12/24 I have been unable to get on the computer for the past few days. The Mistress has been quite stroppy, and I am far from amused. She seems to pay more attention to the resident cat, who now sits on the arm of her chair. Today, she wrote an email to the cat's human family, and she told the cat this, so the cat put her paw on the Mistress's wrist while writing. What next, I ask you. These two are constantly chatting with each other, and each knows what the other is saying.  Regarding the birds outside, Tabitha is in complete control, with the birds screeching. She does have success at times, and sometimes the Mistress calls her to stop and come inside, which she does, of course.  For several nights now, she has enjoyed being brushed and sending Tabitha into a state of pure bliss. However, she doesn't spend time with me, and I get jealous. It is a tough life being a mere Gnome. Tabitha This cat waltzes past me during the night and is not aware I am watching her....

25/10/24 The humans are melting today and spilling everywhere, making this caravan untidy . They keep saying bad weather is coming, but they are wrong, as I can feel the fine weather in my bones. The onset of night seems to stir a restlessness in the humans. They toss and turn, their covers in disarray, creating a scene of disorder. Yet, this peculiar behavior only fuels my curiosity, prompting me to explore other aspects of this world. Amidst the snoring of other humans, I found myself drawn to adventure. Gizmo was having a grand time in the water feature, so I left him to it. I set out to find those pedal bikes I had seen the other day. I yearned to sit in them and dream of having longer legs and the mischief I could get up to. Being a mere Gnome is tough, but I'm always ready for a new adventure.   10/2/25 Yesterday, the humans went out for the day, and we thought they forgot to come home. It was a lovely day, so we went to the vegetable patch. We had to go the back way, down two fence lines. There were humans around, and we couldn't be seen. It was such a long way for our little legs.  Someone dug in the garden, so we went in another direction, as it was huge, and we wouldn't be seen. This limited what we could do, however. Playing amongst the potatoes and tickling them under the pile of dirt was highly entertaining. Throwing them at each other made us fall over and lose our footing. A quick brush down made us sneeze as it was so dusty. Such hard work, we thought. When we had enough, we headed back via the long route. There were humans all over the place. When the coast was clear, we would get to the next place, hide in the shade, rest our weary legs, then move on to the next.  The humans I live with are getting tetchy about this caravan debacle.
