Sitting on top of our new car in Rakaia
My Pride of place
Well, it has been a busy day here. We took His Lordship to golf in our brand-new car. It's bright red, and The Mistress knows that red cars go faster. It is similar in color to her red and black Suzuki Swift, but she hasn't got black stripes on this one yet! I am sure that as the swift went faster with these on, it will surely help if she chooses to. I just loved the stripes, too.
This Turbo job is a very smart Ford Escape 2024. So, while the cat was away, the mice had a play and took the car to Rakaia to meet her friend for lunch. She manages this car far better than the other big thing, and it is easier to park. I sat back and really enjoyed the ride out in the country air. Grrrr computers
We went to the gift shop, where the locals sell their handicrafts, and a lovely young lady served us. The Mistress could not resist buying another Gnome.
Two for the price of one!
She told the lady all about our Gnome hobby and wondered if she wanted to sell some of our books. She gave us a phone number, and now we await a call.
These love birds often go walking for exercise. They do not think to take me, and I am not amused. She got a talking to the other day because they went to Ashburton Gardens without me. I was far from amused as I like those sorts of places. The Mistress tried to say she was really disappointed at the terrible state of the gardens. There were weeds everywhere and up to her knees.
She reckons there is no money in the council budget. His Lordship was disgusted. He was so surprised at seeing this, as he had always known these gardens were colorful and not full of weeds. As a Gnome, I wonder if they look after Mother Earth. I sure hope so, or the council might get a visit from a Gnome. This could be rather interesting to watch this progress. The Mistress says the gardens from the road are always a picture, but this camouflages the real gardens inside.
At this campsite, they recycle and ensure the right things are in the bins. The compost is dug into the garden—yummy for the worms. The recycling method for the yellow bin means the correct numbers to recycle. A brother called in today. He always has the Mistress on and pulls her leg frequently. She threatened to let his tyres down today, but he came back, and they were self-inflating. I reckon he got her there, too! I can see I have to teach her a thing or two.
Another night of hot weather means these love birds sleep on top of their bed again. Not a place for a Gnome.
We just head outside. It is safer this way for a Gnome.
I often look at the rotating photos. Some mighty good pictures pop up from time to time. A reminder of their special day.
