Wow, The Mistress took me out the other day. Fancy that, she remembered me. That cat around here had to take a back step because this was me getting some attention for a change.
The humans enjoyed this place and its ambiance. It's good for the soul, she reckons. After our wandering, they decided a visit to the cafe was in order. They thought it was a posh place, but the music was too loud for the Mistress. They did ask the waitress to reduce the volume, but she must have forgotten. I enjoyed a beer with the humans and looked over their scrumptious meals.
Now, I was introduced to a lovely lady who runs the cafe. She was curious to see me in her cafe and enjoyed a chat. She advises The Mistress that in the school holidays, they put Gnomes around, and the children have to find them. She was interested in my books and wondered if they could be sold in the retail area she was creating. The Mistress will send her some when we get home.
We were going for a ride when the Mistress said, "Stop, let's go back to the road we had just passed."
We were high up, almost in the clouds on the peninsular, when they turned back onto Ocean Road. Incredible scenery, she announced. Look, the road ahead was straight when His Lordship said it might be gravel. No gravel around here, she said. Look, Tarseal, all the way.
They loved the scenery and the ocean in the distance. While I sat on her lap, they spotted beaches and new housing developments on the hillside. What a view they would get. I was not privy to this view and remained on her lap. The joys of being a mere Gnome.
I must add that these love birds are still into this mushy stuff every day. To think that I have to witness this stuff makes me feel I am in the way. I am happy to stay home and watch things, especially this resident cat. She has now taken a liking to His Lordship. I watched the two of them this morning while the Mistress was asleep. He gets up so early most days when most of the neighborhood still sleeps. He even took some selfies to show his darling when she woke up.
They wonder if the people who own the house will get home on Friday because of the Cyclone. They hope they are safe and not in danger. So, this means we head back home that day and hope to catch up with the Auntie and Uncle again—maybe her friend, too.
The humans took off for a walk this afternoon. Peace at last, I say. I explored outside and found when Tabitha sleeps. She wasn't too happy to see me strutting around. She is quite a snob. I believe they call her "The Lady of the Manor." Very appropriate, I feel.
As I sit here writing this blog, Tabitha is helping me push these buttons and generally getting in the way. She can be a real pain in my tiny neck. We are sitting in a different place to get some peace and quiet.
