There is not much happening around here these days. The cat still gets attention, and I remain on the small table observing the goings. She gets brushed daily, and the fur flies around, getting up everyone's nose. She even lashes out at times, presumably because there is a knot. Today, the Mistress is sure that Tabitha is missing her Mum. They talked about it, and she will surely understand this intelligent conversation. 

Humans go out occasionally but generally do not go for long. They seem to prefer to stay home and save their mega pension. So this means a Gnome looks after Tabitha. Such hard work, I must say, because I usually cannot find her. Goodness knows what she gets up to in the daytime when she is not getting brushed. I have to hope that the brush stays away from me. There is nothing wrong with my hair and beard, so she better leave me alone. 

The Mistress calls Tabitha each night at about 10pm, gives her some treats, and is inside for the night, or so she thought last night. When she went to bed, she realized the bedroom window was open, and the cat went out. This means she has to do this process again and more treats for the cat! I could swear the cat was laughing at her too because I was, but I did not show it to the Mistress. I could have been put outside for the night, and there was no way this gnome would be sent out there against my will.

Friends that live here.

These friends and I do all sorts of things when humans sleep. They are into fist-fighting, which displeases me immensely. Mr Green and I talk about living with humans. He tells me he never goes out or on holiday and usually looks after the house. He does watch Tabitha, too. She throws her nose, struts past, and enters the wide world. He tells me he has a lonely life, but he does know that his human family recycles a lot and tends to their garden. They are unaware he watches them, but this is a Gnome secret.

Gnomes see far more than humans realize. Working our magic is what we do best.
