A Gnome's job is never done. We are so worried about a chap's sunflowers. They urgently need water. Each plant has about 6-8 flowers, and they make a standout show around here. The neighbors frequently stop to admire them and chat with the owner when he is around because he works during the day. My humans have a full view from here. I would like to get his hose and do this for him, but others would notice a chap like me. Let's hope he does this today. Otherwise, I may have to do it for him while he sleeps. We don't like gardens getting neglected.

Yesterday, His Lordship was washing the car. He takes great pride in his work and doesn't miss a patch. He is also known for standing back and admiring it. There is not much I don't see around here. The Mistress thinks I should mind my own business at times. I ask why, and she never answers me. I even hear her mad at His Lordship for not answering her, so I now know what this feels like.

Oh, what fun we have had while the humans were away. We went outside, and high jinks with the mushrooms began. We ran around them, over them, and even got a ladder to climb them. It was hard work; we could have done it with a beer or two. But we are banned from the fridge and His Lordship's special hiding place. We have tried many times to find them, but he must have a secret place. We will keep on looking, especially when they are away.

It was so much fun for us. We always find ways to amuse ourselves around here, and of course, when the neighbors are moving around, we are careful not to be noticed. We stand still, and nobody notices the antics we get up to, and I am not about to divulge here. They are used to seeing her Gnomes, and humans always have stuff happening in their heads and do not think about us.
Reading to the mushrooms was a blast. They wriggle around, acknowledging my stories, so my job is done because I know they understand me. We will get on very well, and who knows the mischief we could get up to.
The weather is changing, and what a racket it is when His Lordship turns the heater on. The TV volume goes up, and it's toasty warm in here. Thankfully, it's not permanently on, as it shuts off when it reaches the required temperature.
How warm will it be if it snows? It could be interesting around here. The heater will be on, and the soup will be in the crockpot. She tells me life is an adventure to be lived, not to moan. Challenges are a standard process to be lived and learned. She's getting pretty wise, this Mistress, and enjoys teaching me life's lessons.
