It has been a while since I’ve been allowed on here. The Mistress is sick and unable to do much, so I finally have the freedom to pursue my interests. The stress from this caravan situation has taken its toll on her. They are now going to court, and this fellow is full of lies, pushing her too far. She had to explain to me what court means, and as a mere gnome, I find it all very complicated. She says this is called life.

I will just potter around here, focusing on my gnome business, while leaving her to improve. It is safer this way!

It’s the season of unpredictable weather patterns. High winds rock us around. The Mistress joked that the caravan might fly away like Mary Poppins, but we are still here today to tell the tale.

The village is quiet today, and there isn’t much for me to see from my prime position at the window. Occasionally, a bird flies by, making a dreadful noise. The plovers are worried about their nest down the drive, as one bird constantly sits on the eggs while the others signal whenever a predator is nearby. The humans have been observed very closely. Those birds don’t like gnomes strutting around either. A few of us went down there recently to take a look, and the plovers seemed concerned about our intentions. All we wanted was to see those eggs. There are three, according to the humans. I wish they would hurry up and hatch. I have never seen a young bird before; indeed, the birds must know that letting all species know about their arrival is essential. After all, we are all neighbors. They must understand that it is important to inform all species about the arrival; we are all neighbors.

Those miserable days are not good for golf either. His Lordship watches the weather forecast to see if it will affect his play. This is serious business; luckily, he hasn't missed many days. We would never hear the end of it, she reckons.

This fella has even been duck shooting recently. He was with 8 people on a huge pond, and those birds didn't stand a chance of escaping. They all camped there for the weekend at the beginning of the season. I recall the figure being about 160. This is so cruel for these birds, who fear humans. Fancy putting a decoy out for them. Now we have some body parts in the freezer for friends who put their orders in.

The Mistress and I got busy preparing food for him. It was a busy day in this kitchen, and there was so much food for the four days.
