The caravan is back, thank goodness. It was so cold out there in the boudoir. We thought we were out there for the winter. Friday, His Lordship opened the doors and announced that the caravan had returned. The Mistress was busy at her volunteer job, and this poor man had to endure significant rain and very slippery grass between here and the caravan, carrying these boxes over. She eventually appeared and started to empty them.
I had to find out why the empty ones came back. It was chaos yet again. It appears they were not to get wet, as they may use them again. My mates were very pleased to be inside and out of the rain. His Lordship looked like a drowned rat.
So, they worked their way through all of them over the weekend. I'm back inside again, and it's much warmer, thank goodness. I observed from my place at the window, where I have a great view of everything. I can assure you that I don't miss anything. Some cupboards were rearranged as she wasn't happy with them and had made more room. Anything to please the Mistress, he said to her.
Saturday, I was packed into a bag again with some mates and taken to a market. The humans wanted to sell my books, and so I was very proudly put on show, amongst the books with twinkling lights all over the table.
Many people stopped and spoke to the Mistress, but not me. I was far from impressed with the human race. They sure know how to hurt my feelings. Children tapped my foot and made me rock in my chair, which helped with how I was feeling. One young chap had a feather in his hand. I did wonder what he would do with this, but he carried on going about his day. The Mistress autographed the books, and lots of people were pleased with their purchase. I am very eager to do this again, so I do hope she got the message.
His Lordship assisted her, carrying the books and setting up the trestle. Her poor old back doesn't cope well now, and her darling is always happy to lend a hand.
Sometimes I have to turn my back on these two. That mushy stuff is still going on, and it hurts my eyes. He even kissed her as he left us to it. You will never see Trixie and me carrying on like this. Humans should learn from us how to behave. Should I start running?
Now, a chap with very long legs made an appearance here the other night. All the humans were yakking flat tack, and I could not get a word in. This chap apologized to me several times for the phrases he used to describe something. It was extremely considerate of him, I felt. A very well-mannered gentleman. In this caravan, he didn't have to duck, like he does in others. He was most impressed. He even found the wallpaper up high rippling and suggested a way to fix it.
It appears that this legal matter is all wrong, and humans have been very busy on the phone and with emails today. This Mistress is like a dog with a bone and will not stop fighting for their rights. Watch this space, she says.
They were going to play Croquet this afternoon, but had to cancel their plans as she had to attend to matters with the lawyer. What is a lawyer, I ask? I was politely told to look this up in my books!
